The DURIRON Corporation was founded in 1912 by Dayton foundry man, Pierce D. Schenk, and two associates, J. Richman Pitman, a DuPont explosives production engineer, and William F. Explorer Post 72 was chartered in November 1958 by the First Presbyterian Church in Fairborn, Ohio, and was active until 2002.
